Yes! It is that time of year when the troops hit the streets and entrances of your local grocery stores. The Girl Scouts have begun selling their cookies as of February 1st. But… they have kicked off promoting sales in a big way – through social media.
With new changes to the Cookie Program, including Direct Sale, Gluten-Free Cookies and more, the Girl Scouts are shaking things up. With their focus on the 5 skills: (1) Goal Setting, (2) Decision Making, (3) Money Management, (4) People Skills and (5) Business Ethics, the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa have implemented a Social Media Toolkit that shows “best practice tips provided to generate engagement.” Adding a social media strategy to the cookie program in our opinion is like the classic perfect pair – Milk & Cookies.
